With the exception of the 2022 Halloween Village introductions and the 2023 Gold Standard Village introductions, Department 56 has formally announced the new items for the year in January. Mid-Year introductions have also, periodically, been announced between April, May, and June.

For the first time, in 2021, the 2022 Halloween Village items were announced in October to allow for a more seasonal announcement and delivery of the village. In 2022, Department 56 announced all of the 2023 Gold Standard Village introductions in October to allow the factories more time for production of the core village buildings and accessories. When registered to receive emails by the company, the list is emailed to all subscribers once the portal is opened.  

Over the years, the lists have encompassed Department 56 Villages, General Village Accessories, Snowbabies, Snowbunnies, Possible Dream Santas, licensed items, and other giftware products. Many years of these lists may be accessed here.  When the list is all inclusive it is referenced as such. When divided by category, it is noted below the year.
