Graceland
Revised 5/28/2025

In 1955, 22-year-old Elvis Presley purchased 13.8-acre estate on the outskirts of Memphis know as Graceland. He paid $102.500 for the Georgian style home and the surrounding acreage. Today, the second most visited home in the United States serves as not only a tourist attraction but also as the final resting place for many of Elvis’ closest family members.

In 2001, Department 56 launched “Elvis Presley’s Graceland (s/6)”. The Gift set included the mansion and gate without snow as well as reproductions of the yard decorations used by Elvis to celebrate the holidays. A specially modified 42” Johnson guitar was designed to showcase the set and made available for specific retailers (Graceland Guitar #56.97324). In-laid Sony speakers, connected to a CD player, allowed for the retailer to play the enclosed “Elvis Presley : Best of Artist of The Century” CD. The display was not made available for retail sale and is pictured below.

Following the acquisition of Department 56 by Enesco, a new partnership was formed under license to produce other items synonymous with the “King of Rock And Roll”. With the 2023 opening of The Enesco Gift Gallery featuring Department 56, in Memphis, a new piece “Christmas At Graceland (s/2)” was introduced. This version, sold in the gallery, featured special LED lights on the mansion with snow on it and the gate. In 2024, the popular “Lisa Marie Plane” was made available for sell. In 2025, new accessories and buildings were offered for sale through all Department 56 Dealers. All buildings and accessories are made of ceramic and are listed here as a subseries of The Original Snow Village with special notation as to any specific offerings.
